An Introduction to "We" V.S. "Me" Experiences

Manifestation is a term that has been thrown around quite often in our mainstream world.


Projection - creation - manifest - meditation - experience.


What the hell does it all mean?!

It can be extremely complicated when you first dive into "The Law of Attraction" and a lot of people are still attempting to understand this concept to get a better grasp on exactly how they can begin to "manifest" what they want in their life.


While there are a ton of different methods and models behind what "The Law of Attraction" is and how it works, we wanted to focus on one simple aspect of it that will enable you to change your perspective entirely around what it is.


The experiences you have in life are largely based around how you perceive your world.


And changing your perspective can be the simplest solution to a lot of our issues, can't it?


In fact:

Interesting, isn’t it?


This statement applies to experiences too.




When we are looking to have experiences, we need to be specific in the type of experience we want to have.


For example: I wanted to have the experience of being on a big yacht with Marissa.


Her friends ended up getting a big yacht and we got to spend several weekends on it.


The experience that her friends wanted to have was bigger than the singular experience I wanted.


Her friends wanted the yacht so they could share it with all of their friends.


I wanted to be on the yacht so I could experience it myself.


That is the difference.


I wanted to have a “Me” experience.


They wanted to have an “We” experience.


Let me explain it in terms of business because Jeff Bezos, the owner of Amazon, did the same thing.


He didn’t just want to own a company that sold books (Me Experience).


He wanted to have a company that was able to help millions of people read any book they wanted online. (We Experience).


In fact - I would argue that almost anyone who has ever struggled with uncertainty about the type of life they lead suffers more with a “Me” experience than they do with a “We” experience.


I’m not going to tell you that “We” experiences are better than “Me” experiences, because “Me” experiences are great! 


They allow you to enjoy a bubble bath, read a book, or even eat your favorite foods.


“Me” experiences are singular in terms of just how far our ability to manifest will allow us.


Take for example the last time you wanted to throw a party. Did you throw the party for yourself? 


Maybe it was your birthday and you wanted to celebrate it.


Sure the idea of it being “your birthday” might make it look like a “Me” experience that other people get to enjoy with you - however - do you invite people over to experience you on your birthday, or do you invite people over so you can SHARE the experience of it being your birthday with them?


See what I mean?


You wouldn’t throw a party to be the only person attending, would you?

Likewise, it doesn’t make sense to join a sports team to be the only person playing, does it?


So why do we always aim for just “Me” in terms of the type of life and experiences we want to have?


When it comes to success and what each of us aspire to obtain in our lives, what benefit are we providing if the only person we seem to think about is….”me”?


In terms of how we operate our careers and business, this is where the difference between being successful and questioning our own decisions comes into play.


When we operate from a higher mindset of, “We” rather than “Me”, we are able to put aside personal differences to be something greater than ourselves.


When we are in a career that the singular focus on is “Me,” we will put ourselves before anybody else in our teams, our opinions will solely be focused on comparison of other people, and we will only go as high as we can see ourselves with our limited view.


When we shift to a “We” experience model, we will place the team above ourselves and lead with a voice of union, we will only look to capitalize off of the strengths and skills of everybody involved in a collaborative means, and we will be able to see the world from the perspective of everybody involved.


The map is not the territory - and when we limit our experience to “Me”; our map is all we have to go off of. When we open up to have “We” experiences, we start allowing other people into our world and we start to co-create within theirs.


When you shift into a “We” perspective, you are saying, “I am so damn abundant that I can provide this experience for other people to share and delight in.” 


You start looking at the world from the top down, rather than left to right. You start asking yourself questions like, “If I wanted to help other people have sustainable jobs in my community, what type of business/organization/chapter could I create?” 




“If I wanted to create a business which made so much money it could hire my best friends to come and do their favorite thing to do at a price they are worth, what type of business would that be?”


There are a million ways to ask these types of questions, aren’t there?


When we shift our perspective into the frame of, “We” or even “Us” we begin to allow ourselves to ask questions of abundance rather than questions of lack.


Look at the difference in these questions.


  1. What can I do to experience...___________?

  2. What can I do to be able to provide ____________ for others to experience?


In the second question, your mind is forced to think in a way that is critically different - because you must remove your own biases in order to be able to expand your experience out to accommodate other people and their own biases.


This is not negative at all - in fact, quite the opposite! 


It allows you to think in a way that is more inclusive to your own wants and desires while also making sure to take into account everyone else.


For some people, this might mean a life partner you want to marry, for others it might be about creating a business for their own financial stability, and for others it might mean how we manage our teams and organizations.


By asking yourself what you could do to provide an experience for other people it forces you to begin thinking about the scale of depth to your critical thinking ability.


Now you have to start thinking about others as if you were leading them into an experience.


Providing them an experience might mean you need to purchase tickets to the event, or reach out and schedule the meeting, or teach them something new, whatever the case may be!


If you, for example, wanted to experience watching a baseball game (“Me” Experience) - you might watch it on the TV, or online, or you might go to a game and watch it live.


However, if you wanted to experience what it would be like providing people the experience of watching baseball (“We” Experience) then it changes things quite differently.


Now you might have to check out the demographic in the area to see if there would be any interest, join or start up a local league, or even go purchase a piece of land and build your own diamonds.


“How” all of that would even be possible is now a decision between your ego and what you really want.


If you really, and I mean really wanted to provide other people the chance to experience baseball, then you would - Come hell or high water, you would make it work, no matter the cost.


If you just want to experience a baseball game, then yeah, just go watch it on TV.


However, just realize…


...this is the difference between me getting a chance to be on the yacht - and me owning one down at the marina.
