It’s not easy to be in a situation where you’re forced to be in your house ALL. THE. TIME.


Am I right?!

 

You and your partner are getting into more fights than normal, you’re wondering when your kids will finish their at home homework, and not to mention you’ve become everyone’s personal chef! (Psssttt… cooking/baking are my creative outlets)

 

It doesn’t seem easy to quarantine, but there are some ways you can make the most of it.

 

  • It’s time to go through all of those friends on Facebook you’ve been meaning to delete.
  • Maybe it’s time to redo your resume because all of this time away from the office has led you to realize you enjoy work, life balance.
  • What about the clothes you’ve been saying you’ll put away tomorrow, but they’re still collecting on the chair? Oops!

 

We’re all in the same boat here, which means there are millions of people wondering the same thing.

 

What next?

 

 

Something that Timothy and I have grown to love is gardening. (Hence why everything we teach and do is surrounding plants!)

 

Not just because of the quarantine, but we’ve loved gardening since we met! (I like to think I converted Timothy into a green thumb!)

 

What’s better than growing your own veggies and fruit, and incorporating it into your meals?

 

Your quarantine boredom project doesn’t have to be gardening, but it is nice to hang outside, isn’t it?

 

What better time than right now to begin those projects you’ve been putting off?

 

Do you have a goal for yourself personally and professionally?

 

If so ask yourself, what’s one thing I can do right now that will help me reach my goal?

 

 

Looking at the bigger picture can sometimes be daunting, especially now when all you want to do is get out of the house.

 

By simplifying your goals into small doses you’re able to take bite sized chunks and accomplish them.

 

Your discouragement or lack of motivation can come from taking too big of a task on and not completing it.

 

Take gardening for example.

 

I plant my veggies for the overarching goal of having fresh vegetables, right?

 

If I planted the veggies and expected them to grow without me helping the process, I’d get nothing out of it.

 

Therefore, I know that every morning I have to build into my routine to water and check on the plants.

 

It doesn’t stop there though, I have to make sure they’re healthy, the animals aren’t getting to them, they have enough sunlight, etc.

 

All of that to say, it’s important to ask yourself, is my goal attainable and how long will it take for me to get there?

 

If you’re not creating goals that are SMART (Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-based), you may be setting yourself up for failure.


I think it’s time to get working on those goals, right?!
